The shooting happened in the Bronx on Wednesday, Oct. 2 around 1:45 p.m. at the intersection of East 198th Street and Pond Place, according to a report by ABC7.

The outlet said that 40-year-old Yonkers resident Kavon Reid was shot in the back in front of a senior home. The bullet went through his heart, causing him to collapse on Bainbridge Avenue after running for a block.

Reid was soon taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the outlet.

The suspect, who is believed to have had no interaction with Reid before the shooting but still recognized him after walking by him, ran south on Pond Place. He is described as wearing a gray-hooded shirt and a face mask, the outlet reported, adding that no arrests have been made.
